Blue Meanies Cubensis
This is a 10ML syringe.
There are two types of Blue Meanies. This is the P. Cubensis strain.
The other Blue Meanie strain is Panaeolus cyanescens
Origin:
The P. cubensis strain was (allegedly) originally harvested in Australia, after which the spores were isolated to create the standalone strain we know today.
“Blue Meanies” is a common nickname that can refer to two different types of psychoactive mushrooms. It’s essential to distinguish between them:
1. Panaeolus cyanescens (True Blue Meanies):
• Species: These are not a strain of Psilocybe cubensis but a different species altogether, known as Panaeolus cyanescens.
• Potency: Panaeolus cyanescens is known for its high psilocybin and psilocin content, making it one of the most potent psychoactive mushrooms.
• Appearance: They typically have small, bell-shaped caps that can be white to light brown and slender stems. When bruised, they exhibit a characteristic blue coloration, hence the name “Blue Meanies.”
• Habitat: These mushrooms are commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions, growing on dung or in grassy areas.
2. Psilocybe cubensis “Blue Meanies”:
• Strain: Within the Psilocybe cubensis species, “Blue Meanies” is also a nickname given to certain strains known for their intense blue bruising and high potency.
• Development: The origins of this specific cubensis strain are less well-documented, but it has been selectively bred by enthusiasts for its potency and distinctive blue bruising.
• Appearance: As a cubensis strain, these mushrooms have the typical Psilocybe cubensis morphology with medium to large fruiting bodies, golden-brown caps, and thick, sturdy stems. They are known for the significant blue bruising that occurs when the fruiting bodies are handled.
• Cultivation: The “Blue Meanies” cubensis strain is cultivated like other Psilocybe cubensis strains, thriving on various substrates such as brown rice flour, vermiculite, and manure.
Key Characteristics of Psilocybe cubensis “Blue Meanies”:
• Appearance: Medium to large fruiting bodies with golden-brown caps and thick stems. Notable for intense blue bruising when handled.
• Growth: Like other Psilocybe cubensis strains, they are relatively easy to cultivate, making them a good choice for both novice and experienced growers.
• Potency: This strain is often considered more potent than many other Psilocybe cubensis strains, providing a strong and immersive psychoactive experience.
• Popularity: Blue Meanies cubensis are popular among growers and users for their high potency and reliable growth characteristics.
In summary, the term “Blue Meanies” can refer to both Panaeolus cyanescens and a potent strain of Psilocybe cubensis. While Panaeolus cyanescens is a different species known for its high potency, the Psilocybe cubensis “Blue Meanies” strain is a selectively bred variant known for its intense blue bruising and strong psychoactive effects.
